Claudia Ferrari was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1961. Her two great passions in life are languages and painting. She received a degree as a literary, scientific and technical translator of English and French while she studied traditional painting and drawing with many teachers. While doing her post-degree studies at the Sorbonne University in Paris she was exposed to a world of local artists.

Being inspired by a range of diverse cultures, she discovered Sumi- é, an antique Japanese technique using natural dyes on rice paper and studied Japanese ideograms. Under the leadership of her teachers Kazu Takeda, E. Audivert and Juan Doffo, Claudia focus’ on the Oriental world where she recreates her occidental being through the techniques of color Sumi-é.
