Marvin Pelkey

Born and raised along the central coast of British Columbia, Marv Pelkey spent countless hours exploring the natural world. After moving to the Greater Vancouver area, he continued to be drawn to those places largely untouched by man. As a seemingly natural way to take some of that wilderness with him each time he returned home, Marv embraced the art of photography.

Self-taught, Marv learned and honed his skills in traditional film photography, starting out capturing images of wildlife then eventually settling on landscapes. Landscape photography brought with it a sense of solitude, quiet and peace that other types of photography did not seem to offer.

Marv eventually transitioned into the digital realm and now captures and prepares his images with digital tools. As an added benefit, the digital environment also provided him the means to blend multiple images, to best convey the impressions he experiences in the field.
