Jennifer Harwood

Jennifer Harwood was born and raised in London, Ontario, and now resides in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. She is primarily self-taught, but has taken classes in drawing, composition and color through Emily Carr College of Arts and Design.

Having had an interest in visual art at a young age, Jennifer took a detour to study and receive a BA in Contemporary Dance from Simon Fraser University. She has performed across Canada and in Vancouver and has had the opportunity to spend time in London, England studying her craft. Jennifer’s next artistic venture led her to a diploma in Graphic Design and work in the real estate industry. Wanting to get back into visual art, she started to get involved with the Vancouver Art Guild and the Federation of Canadian Artists, which she is now an Associate member.

The most enjoyable part of painting for her is the experience of putting paint and brush to canvas. Her paintings play with bold color and creatively interpret the elements in an abstract way.
