David Stevens

After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, David Stevens turned his interest to art. Moving to California in 1971, he learned to make stained glass windows and tiffany lampshades while working with the Augustine Glassworks in Santa Monica. In 1973, David opened his own studio and began selling his work through galleries or art shows.

While in California, David also studied photography and woodworking, planting the seed that would take hold 19 years later after successfully working in stained glass and wood. In 1999, David returned to photography after studying briefly with photographer Tom McCall. David traveled to photograph landscapes and seascapes along the east coast of North America and throughout the Southwest and California.

Suite à sa graduation en Histoire des Beaux Arts de l’Université de Michigan en 1970, David Stevens se concentre sur son art. Il déménage en Californie en 1971, où il apprend à faire du vitrail et des lampes Tiffany pendant qu’il travaille pour la compagnie Augustine Glassworks à Santa Monica. En 1973, David inaugure son propre studio et vend ses œuvres par l’entremise de galeries et de salons d’arts.

Pendant son séjour en Californie, David étudie également la photographie et le travail sur bois. Pendant 19 ans, il connaît beaucoup de succès pour ses vitraux et ses œuvres sur bois. En 1999, David se retourne vers la photographie suite à ses brèves études avec le photographe Tom McCall. David voyage beaucoup pour photographier les paysages et bords de mer tout au long de la côte est nord américaine ainsi que le sud-ouest de la Californie.
